Inspirational Bands

Music has always played a major part in growing up in my opinion. In today's society this is ever present. For example, if a teenager has grown up listening to music of the rap genre, they are most probably going to model there self's on the performers, this goes to say with every genre, if a teenager has grown up listening to music of the rock genre such as slipknot, they are most probably going to dress and act as how the band members act due to them being their role models. Myself I kind of contradict this theory, due to the fact I listened (from what I can remember) to all sorts of different genre of music, from R'n'B, Pop and even Motown but from around the age of 10, My brother introduced me to his genre of music, Indie and Rock and Roll and I never looked back.
I believe role models such as my brother, helped me discover my self and music. From the age of 10, my brother introduced me to bands such as Oasis, The Courteeners, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, The Strokes, Razorlight; these are just a few of the bands my brother introduced me too and and still to this day, these bands inspire me.

The reason I picked Mint Ive as my band as I believe they have have a mixture of each one of these bands which is a dream combination for me as I believe these bands are amongst the greatest on this planet, and to find an unsigned band with the type of music I am into was a real bonus for me and indeed made this project a lot easier. These bands and indeed my chosen band have one major thing in common, they a vocalist, guitar, bass and a drummer, which in my opinion is how music should be and another reason why these bands inspired me.

Another reason why these bands inspired me is the fact they have a mass variety of songs, here is a couple of examples of how they can indeed produce two completely different styles of songs but are still manage to produce high quality songs.

Here is Rock 'N' Roll star by Oasis, one of there all time greatest songs, very upbeat and the song is all about going out and having a good time.

Here we have the complete opposite of the previous song, both from Oasis, this song is a very meaningful and  mellowed down song.

Filming Schedule

This is my filming schedule, I have taken into account what times and days of the week I am free and able to film. This is just a rough approximation when I want to film due to many factors that may affect my schedule such as, camera availability, people to film with and also the weather may play a factor in the filming of my music video. I only want to spend at least a week filming, two if necessary. This is due to the editing of the film and other factors.
I will start hopefully on the 25th of February due to the fact it will be a Friday when I start to film, which also gives me Saturday and Sunday to film, then I can start to edit on the Monday.-

25th February- I will film a number of miming scenes with my self and the other protagonist in my video Sophie McShane. I am going to do this on the Friday due to fact I have a quiet day which means I can put a lot of work on the miming scenes on this day due to the fact the miming scene is the hardest part.

26th February- I will be filming with my self and hopefully a friend to help. If necessary I will add more to the miming scenes from the previous day, but this day will involve no miming. It will involve a lot of night shots so the filming will begin at night. Also the filming will involve a lot of preparation which means a lot of re-arranging will needed to be done, for example, I will be re-arranging my bed room to make it look like very rough and a lot of rubbish around the room.

27th February- On this day, if all goes to plan I will have finished filming my video, this day will be used if there is any parts missed or cut out, I am not looking to film on this day but if I must then I will.

28th February- I will be looking to start editing my video on this day, if there are any shots I need to take of scenery or people I will do this on this day.

16th March- Re-filmed more shots due to camera not uploading some of the clip I recently filmed, I went onto film more clips than I expected.

28th March- Again filmed more shots which I considered to "dark" to be included in my music video so I again re-filmed.

Props

In my music video, it will not be the generic music video. There will not be a band in the video, no guitars, no drums or microphones, just a story line, between a boy and a girl. I want it to be like the "Arctic Monkeys Leave before the lights come on" video. The story is not really about the song in which has it positives and negatives, for example, Goodwins 6 points state the film and song should be in relevance, in which to a degree I do concur with his theory, because when you watch a music video, we do want to see some relevance with the video and the video, but if you can make the story a gripping and exciting one, the audience get to see a 3 minute story and listening to there favourite track at the same time which is a really exciting thing for me.
                                                        

This is the sort of Clothing I want the main protagonist to wear in my music video,  A dull green parker coat, very dreary looking and maybe smoking.

This will be the second main protagonist, He will be wearing a suit because he thought he was going to be going on a date with his "Girl Friend" but she shunts him down.

A car will be used in one of the shots which will show my friend(Sophie) speaking to another Boy in the
car. This is because there is a line in my song, which says "For someone that who has a car"

In my video, the man will be drinking a bottle of wine, this will suggest heartache and makes the audience think what has driven this man to drink so heavily.

In my video, There will be a a shot of me sending a text to his "GirlFriend" the text will be the lyrics what are being sung in time with the video.
