The name of my band are named "Mint ive". They are a unsigned band formed in Nottingham. They have been together since the year of 2006, and are arguably one of the biggest unsigned bands in Nottingham with a massive fan base. They are a four-piece band, Will Lillejord (vocals, guitar), Joel Mulvany (bass), Dan Wright (drums), Oliver Chetty (guitars) brought together through the love of rock and roll and music.
The reason I came across this band is due to the fact my Brother knows Joel (bass player) and through my brother I have gained a lot of knowledge of the band, I have watched them at gigs, I have heard many unreleased tracks from them and always have been a fan. Mint Ive have performed at many famous and well known gigs and arenas, for example they played at Splendour in 2008, a well known music festival in Nottingham and also performed at Nottingham's famous Rock City. They have numerous songs on Itunes and amazon. Mint Ive even supported the band "The Maccabees" their gig was shown on Channel 4.
Mint Ive genre of music is good old fashioned Rock and Roll, are the generic rock and roll band, 1 vocal, 1 on bass, 1 on drums and 1 on guitars. The definition of Rock And Roll is a type of music with a heavy beat and very simple lyrics but with a strong meaning, and that is what Mint Ive epitomises. The target audience for Mint Ive try to target is around 18-30. The reason behind this because the lyrics are quite meaningful and are pretty complex. They target this age because they sing about going out on the town, drinking, drugs, girls, relationships and just the night life in general. That is another reason I have chosen this band, due to me being the age of 18, I can relate to the music and gives the meanings of there songs an even deeper meaning to them which is really important effect for me when I listen to music.
They are big fans of Nottingham Forest and are often going to games. They have often said there heros is Brian Clough.
Mint Ive also have numerous videos on Youtube, from music video to even documentaries, here are a couple of their videos on Youtube.
